Week 3 – Dinner 1: Fried Rice

Fried Rice: The recipe:

Cooked Rice
Oil
Eggs
Onions
Salt
Pepper
Soy sauce
Oyster sauce
Anything else you want in your fried rice (My Person used red peppers and corn this time)

  1. Add oil to pan, scramble eggs and fry in oil.  Add salt and pepper.  Remove from pan
  2. Add oil to pan, add onions and other non-rice ingredients and cook until mostly done (i.e., onions will be translucent).
  3. Add rice (My Person knew she would be making fried rice so she made extra rice in the rice cooker the day before – fried rice actually works better with day old rice, rather than rice that was just prepared)
  4. Add egg, stir fry together.  Add soy sauce and oyster sauce to taste.

Bonus: extra fried rice will be Other Person’s lunch for the next few days.
